The New Pangea Photo Blog

Over the past four months, the Pangea Photo Blog has remained just about the same as when we first launched in September.  We started the blog as a publishing platform for our stories and collaborative work, and we have been posting that work regularly for sometime now.  But over the past few months, in group meetings and casual conversations, we decided that we just weren’t achieving the diversity of material that we needed.  We were also upset with the very standard layout and navigation of our website.
At the beginning of December we started developing a new website—one that was built from the ground up to be not only user friendly and easy to navigate, but also scaleable.  While we were discussing the site, we began to talk about content and wonder what we could begin to offer our readers in addition to our photography projects.
We are pleased to announce the launch of the new Pangea Photo Blog.  We will continue to publish our projects and single images.  In addition to that, we have added Johnny Simon to the team.  He will run the “Dialogue” page and offer periodic stories on news and culture.  He will cover politics, media and visual culture with an eye towards photography and non-fiction storytelling.  The real goal of Johnny’s page is to stimulate debate on the issues we cover, and we really encourage you all to share your questions or opinions.  In addition to this new page, we will soon begin real-world camera and equipment reviews, dropping the traditional specification-heavy reviews for a more casual and, we think,  informative analysis.
Thank you all so much for your support and interest so far.  We can’t wait to see what will come next.
